Legoland 2013

Our Journey through LEGOLAND in photo's

K and I had the chance to go to LEGOLAND with our homeschool group again.  I kept this a secret until The 6 AM wake up call.  K jumped for joy with the surprise!

Look at this amazing Christmas tree made from Legos.

K was living up the chance to go on rides with his friends!  Sometimes being an only child is BORING!

Enjoying the Fall with Friends

Back in November K and I made the trip to Tavares FL to ride the Orange Blossom train.
We had a great time with some of our friends.

Just love this photo of K and N looking out the back of the train.

After the train ride we headed for the corn maze.   While we waited for everyone arrive the kids played in a small maze and climbed a tree.

Here we are heading into the corn maze!  Our team meant some serious business.

We Made it out of the maze with all kids.  I call that a success!

After the maze the kids played on this huge air pillow.  K loved that thing!

Water Play with our homeschool friends

Recess water play day!
4/17/13

I forgot my camera so these photo's are from my phone

Kayden had a blast playing with the shaving cream!  Just an FYI though shaving cream & bright colors don't match, faded his shorts in spots.
Slip and slide was Fun!
Water balloon fight was a riot.  the kids had so much fun getting the moms and dads that were playing.  I wish I would of brought a change of clothes so I could of played.  Next time Kristi add me to the list of moms to tag with water and shaving cream ;O)

K had so much fun he ended up napping on the way home from this.  Wish we did things like this a little more often than once a year.

FT- WonderWorks

Wonderworks Orlando
4/26/13

K was scared to go inside as he was for sure everything inside was destroyed as the building is upside down.  Once we went in he was fine until the DARK spinning tube you walk through.  He ran back to the end.  I ended up having to have him close his eyes and push him through that.  Other than those 2 things he had a blast once he was past all of that.

He even tried the ropes which is about 12 feet above the ground.  He had the sweetest assistant who worked with him so that he could try it out.  This was my proudest moment seeing him overcome something he was nervous about.  Esp, when I saw older kids turn around without even trying.  So proud he didn't let his fear take a hold of him.

The light board was really neat!  My  little ham held his breath while posing in the space suit ;o) he's a funny guy.  Both mama and son had a blast on the large piano.  Bubbles where fun but we only got our heads in a bubble before the bubble would pop.

Both K and I learned a little bit about the icy waters from the titanic crash site.  K left his hand in for 36 sec's and than he was off to the next station.  I on the other hand was still going after 5 min's but had to move on with K.  LOL!  It was cold but I didn't think about it being cold which helped.  We hit the water flowing up, still and down, earthquake station, hurricane force wind (K didn't).  We had a blast at Wonderworks

We spent 4 hours there before heading out for lunch and some shopping in Orlando.  We had a great time but next time I am asking if we can go in another way, that spinning tube was a little much for my guy.  With the fear of the unknown this isn't a good start to the wonderful adventure Wonderworks brings.

JcPenney's Free back to school hair cut

JcPenneys gave school age children free hair cuts this year.  Yes, even homeschoolers want to look good for school.  K was happy to get his hair cut to start the school year off.

Look how happy he was with his fresh cut hair.  He also met a great lady who made him feel so welcome in the chair.  Thank you JcPenney's for this service this year and to honor even homeschoolers.

Supplies needed for your own Fish bowls
Ziploc baggies
Clear gel
food coloring
glitter
Fish foamies
Fish stickers
Water color paint
Fish bowl shape made on card stock.  each child needs 2 for each side of the baggy

Make sure you tape the top so that the bag doesn't open when the kiddos are playing with this fish bowl

Rockledge gardens.... Part 2

This is part 2 of our trip to Rockledge Gardens.

You can visit part 1 here

While at the garden you just have to go in the butterfly garden.  This place is just pure bliss if you like butterfly's.

Just look at how gorgeous this butterfly is.  Love the Polkadots

Here is a chart that they have inside of the butterfly house.  We had a great time looking for all the different  butterfly's.  We couldn't find a few of them because of season but found a few different types.

Zebra butterfly.

Not for sure but I think these are the Monarch caterpillars munching away on parsley
Didn't see any Monarchs in the butterfly house but they were all over at the garden

Rockledge gardens Part 1

On a whim I took K over to the Rockledge Gardens as I've heard some great things about the place. We arrived and walked in and all I can say is WOW!  In fact cant wait for family to fly down and take them to this garden, it's just that cool.

As you walk around the garden there are lots of workers who KNOW the plants and willing to teach you what they know about the different types of plants.  They know so much I'm planning an adult field trip here shortly with the husband as we start the planning for our landscaping.
Fee is whatever you end up buying for your home garden.

The fountains

K and i just loved this pond.  They had tadpoles near all those pretty lily pads.  I'm going to have to ask if they sell tadpoles, would love a couple for the classroom

I love red doors and this one was no different.

As you can see these plants have shade over them so they don't fry in the Florida sun.

there are road signs like this all around the garden.  This place is huge they even have a map that helps you find what your looking for.

A lemon tree..look at how gorgeous these lemons are.  I think I want a lemon tree if our yard :o)

One of the worksheets we got as we studied Bamboo plants.

The Cactus garden.  Lots of close up learning went on here.  K didn't touch but he was in aww of all the different types of cactus

Some upside down trumpets as K called them

K said these flowers look like little banana's

                                                    Some flowers around the garden
Even a little train track around a flower bed
A grasshopper that K found and tried to catch.  Yeah that never happened but he had fun trying

Check Back for Part 2
