We got Tadpoles....8/17

Our Tadpoles are here.  They are a week old and tiny.  I was thinking they would of been bigger but they are about the size of a pencil lead that shows when sharp.  We have 22 tadpoles to raise up before we release some of them when the time is right.  We are going to to keep a couple frogs for the school room.

Questions from K
What are we going to do with 22 frogs?
When they get bigger will the frogs eat each other if i forget to feed them for a day?
Why do they eat upside down?
Do they have fills like fish?
Not a question but a conversation K and I had
KK- When they start to hop i can have frog races with them. me- how are you going to know who is who? KK- I'm going to write numbers on them with paint, like on race cars me- I hope the paint is safe for frogs. KK-it will be because we look for products that are safe for me to use :o)

JcPenney's Free back to school hair cut

JcPenneys gave school age children free hair cuts this year.  Yes, even homeschoolers want to look good for school.  K was happy to get his hair cut to start the school year off.

Look how happy he was with his fresh cut hair.  He also met a great lady who made him feel so welcome in the chair.  Thank you JcPenney's for this service this year and to honor even homeschoolers.

Working on Weaving

While watching the Olympics K wanted to make his own flag. So I had the great Idea why not have him weave a flag together with his own pattern.   He picked the colors of Romania and made a cool looking flag for K's made up country.  He said next year he'll march in the Olympics.  I didn't have the heart to remind him that the Olympics are every 4 yrs (2 if he's thinking winter :o))

Not back to school party...8/6/12

Our homeschool group threw a party for our homeschool kids for back to school; but our kiddo's don't go anywhere for school so NOT BACK TO SCHOOL was what we all called it.

After 1.5 hours of jump time we all went in for pizza and juice

K had so much time he now wants to do this every week :o)

Ice Cream Social with our homeschool friends

Another Homeschool event; The Ice Cream Social!

Boys and technology

This young man was teaching K how to use the sling shot toy

Look at all those toppings...Every 2 bowls had something different.  Our kids left this event with a much sugar rush.  Thank goodness my son was off to Gymnastics afterwards to burn off that added energy.

K's sugar induced coma stare :o)

Ooey Gooey art......8/3/12

Ooey Gooey art with the creative Kristi
we had the honor to join in this week with a fun art project with some other moms in our local homeschool group.  K had a blast making his own fish tank.  I taped it to the window and K had fun pressing on the GOO and finding all his fish.  The colors are fun as well with the light shining through it :o)
